- ABOUT HELPNAV
- ********************************************************************
-
- HelpNav (short for Help Navigator) provides access to your
- favorite Windows Help files by means of a "remote control."
- HelpNav sports a popular 3D look in main and dialog windows.
- The "remote control" (HelpNav's main window) provides one-
- button access to all of Help's normal button bar as well as
- one-button access to all of Help's menu items. Additionally,
- HelpNav allows one-button access to printing out the current
- topic, as well as one-button access to copy the ENTIRE current
- topic to the clipboard, bypassing the normal Copy... dialog
- box that appears when you select Copy... from Help's Edit
- menu.

- HELPNAV LICENSE AGREEMENT
- *******************************************************************
-
- HelpNav is SHAREWARE. Registration is $10. You are
- entitled to evaluate and use it without limitations for 30
- days. At the end of that time, you are either obligated to
- register it or delete it from your computer system. You may
- freely distribute HelpNav, only so long as you distribute
- ONLY the original zip file, unaltered in any way. Registered
- users MAY NOT distribute or divulge the registration code,
- nor may they upload or distribute the HelpNav .INI file.
- You may not disassemble, alter, or reverse-engineer HelpNav
- or any of its components. Installation of HelpNav on your
- computer implies agreement to these terms, and the terms
- listed in HelpNav under Uploading & License Agreement on
- HelpNav's system menu.
-

- REGISTERING HELPNAV
- *******************************************************************
-
- You really should register HelpNav. Registration is only $10.
- You receive nothing but the peace of mind that you did the
- right, honorable thing by registering. Also, when you register,
- the initial NAG screen will "go away," as well as a few other
- reminders that you have not yet registered. Other than that,
- HelpNav is fully functioning, with no impairment. You may
- send your registration to:
-
- Paul Arnote
- 1208 Randolph St.
- Leavenworth, KS 66048
-
- Be sure to send in the registration form with your $10
- registration fee. I will mail to you the registration code via
- First Class US Mail (i.e., Snail Mail). Or, if you desire and
- so indicate, I will EMail the registration code to you. If you
- are an America Online user, simply supply your screen name.
- If you are not an America Online user, simply supply an
- Internet address where your mail can be sent. For example,
- since I am on America Online, my Internet address is
-
- AerosolMan@aol.com
-
- If you cannot provide either an AOL screen name or an
- Internet address, your only resort is Snail Mail.
-
- Of course, as with any program I write, I will answer all and
- any questions or mail you might want to pose or pen,
- regardless if you are a registered user or not. If you would
- like to leave me EMail, address it to "AerosolMan" on
- America Online.

- RUNNING HELPNAV
- *******************************************************************
-
- Running HelpNav should be fairly straight-forward. Briefly,
- here is a "how to run" for HelpNav.
-
- 1. If you have HelpNav open and no Help file, clicking on
- either the Contents button or the Open File button brings up
- the familiar Windows Open File dialog box. Maneuver thru
- this dialog box as usual, searching for the Help file you are
- interested in viewing. Double-click on the Help file name, or
- single click and select OK, and your chosen Help file will
- be opened.
-
-
- 2. If you have a Help file open along with HelpNav, the
- Contents button works just like the Contents button on the
- Windows Help button bar. Same thing for Search, Back,
- and History. The two << and >> buttons under the Contents
- button mimics the behavior of Browse buttons that typically
- appear on the Help button bar.
-
-
- 3. Selecting Open File behaves the same way as selecting
- Open File... from the Help File menu. It brings up the familiar
- Windows Open File dialog box, from which you can select the
- file you wish to view.
-
-
- 4. When you use HelpNav to open a Help file, HelpNav
- resizes the Help file window so that HelpNav and the Help
- file remain fully visible, side by side with HelpNav on the
- right side of your screen.
-
-
- 5. HelpNav initially opens with "Always On Top" set to be
- on top of all other windows. Clicking on the "On Top" button
- toggles the "Always On Top" setting. Doing so causes the
- text that appears above the button to change to reflect the
- current "Always On Top" status. If "Always On Top" is set
- to on, then the text above the button states "HelpNav Always."
- If "Always On Top" is set to off, then the text above the
- button states "HelpNav Not."
-
-
- That's about it. You may post any comments, suggestions,
- or questions to "AerosolMan" on America Online. Or you may
- write to the author at the address listed above.
